Power line Planning and Design
The LiDAR survey of the transmission line route provides XYZ point data and photography of the proposed line route. Our powerline experts feature-code the point data into the relevant classifications. We create a feature-code table to reflect the required electrical clearances for each object.
The line route is then profiled, ensuring that electrical clearances are maintained. Areas requiring vegetation clearance can be highlighted for action by field teams. The finished line route can be visualized in 3D. Engineering checks on electrical clearance and structural capacity can be performed under many scenarios. We can then generate Plan and Profile sheets of the proposed line route easily and quickly. Any modifications to routing can be accommodated as they occur and revised documentation generated to reflect the new design.
